Welcome to Slektshistoriewiki, the Norwegian Genealogy Wiki! The wiki, which is administered by Norsk Slektshistorisk Forening, the Norwegian Genealogical Society, was established in 2012.
Slektshistoriewiki is a website where one can both read and contribute to articles about Norwegian families and genealogy in general. In the wiki you can read and/or write about topics such as word explanations (genealogical terms etc.), genealogical and historical societies, offices, properties, families, biographies, genealogical tools and resources, archives, institutions and museums, literature about or including biographies, genealogies, primary sources, parish books («bygdebøker»), handbooks, periodicals and aid to do research in other countries.

Open an account
You are welcome to open a user's account. Please note that in order to contribute you are required to be able to write and understand Norwegian. If your only intention is to read and follow the links from the website, we would be pleased if you don't apply for an account. Please note that you will not get access to any more sources by obtaining an account than you would have by just be lurking. In other words, your application will be denied if you can't demonstrate your skills in writing Norwegian.
